Casework update- December

January 6, 2016

In Parliament today I asked the Secretary of State for Defence, will Canada 🇨🇦 be asked to join the JEF? You can Listen to my question and the resposne from the Secretary of State below.

I was contacted by a constituent who had recently made a claim for Jobs Seekers Allowance.  Unfortunately the amount that was paid to the constituent was in fact wrong and was considerably less than was expected.  I contacted the DWP on my constituent’s behalf and the remainder of the payment was transferred to their bank account that very day.

I was contacted by two families who had agreed a mutual exchange on their social housing properties.  They had been waiting several weeks for the exchange to be officially approved by the housing provider and due to over-crowding issues they were obviously upset by the delay.  I contacted the housing provider on behalf of both families and the exchange was approved within a week and both families are now in the process of moving.

I was contacted by a constituent who had been waiting for several months for the Home Office to reach a decision about their application for naturalisation.  I contacted the Home Office on their behalf several times by letter, telephone and email and a decision was reached after I intervened.
